Expect to see another great performance put on by Joe Mesi in this bout. Although I expect Barrett to have more heart than any of Mesi's previous opponents, I feel that this should be another relatively easy fight for Mesi. I expect it to go mid rounds and possibly to a decision.

Mesi should be pumped up once again for this bout, as he has yet to leave the state of New York for so-called step ups in competition.

I like Mesi as a fighter, but I do not like the way he and his promoters are going about selecting opponents at this stage of his career. They state to the media that they are taking legitimate steps up in class when they are actually very very subtle steps. And when I say subtle, I mean hardly noticeable. He went from Robert Davis, to Davarryl Williamson, to his upcoming bout with Monte Barrett. Based on everything that was touted about Williamson before the bout, we would all be led to believe that Williamson is a much better fighter than Barrett.

I would just like to see Mesi fight a top ten opponent in his next bout. That would satisfy me a great deal.

If I was Mesi' handlers I would set him up against one of the following fighters next: Lance Whitaker; Cedric Boswell; and maybe Michael Moore. (Moore would probably get ko'd early, but at least he has boxing ability)

Hey BOXING_FREAK... how many rounds do you think the Klitschko vs. Johnson fight is going to go?

Because of Klitschko's awkward fighting style, I feel that Johnson will have difficulty imposing his will in the early rounds. He may figure Klitschko out somewhat by the middle rounds if he ever does. Johnson is a heavy-set fighter that has power and relatively fast hands for a fighter of his size. So he should earn some respect from Klitschko in this fight.

I feel that Klitschko will not waste any time in this bout implementing his strategy. From round 1 on, he will be firing jabs to score points and get ahead on the scorecards.

I feel that the bout should go at least 7 to 8 rounds, barring any cuts suffered by Klitschko. Klitschko is well known for breaking down fighters over the course of several rounds. I believe he definitely has the punch output and accuracy needed to break down a fighter of Kirk Johnson's caliber.

Couple things:
1) Johnson is a bum and flat out horrible. I mean he is a total joke. But then again I said that about Fres and he arguably beat Byrd.

2) Who the hell is Barrett? I have never even heard of the guy before. Mesi seems like he's too big of a pussy to fight anybody with a pulse.
He was such a bitch he fired Sugar Ray because he was trying to set him up to fight Michael Grant!
Im sorry but I cant respect a guy who ran scared from Michael Grant.

Who is training Vitali for this fight? If its Roach then this is an absolute safe 4-1 lay.

This guy picks his opponents so carefully, his first fight against a well-known fighter will probably be against Evander "Really-Done" Holyfield.

guys...the wild card is that klitscko eye......as teddy atlas said,6 months ain`t that long....not for that kind of cut.....

and don`t think for a minute that johnson won`t be shooting for it....

at 4-1,with johnson being the quicker guy,and now the heavier guy,it`s a little scary....

i might play a throw away on johnson for the hell of it......maybe he reopens that nasty cut?......maybe...
